Head Pictures is a production company specialising in music videos, advertising, animation and feature length film and television projects.

In 2008, Head Pictures launched it's advertising division and producer Leanne Tonkes joined the team to head up this venture. The company will offer advertising a creative and production solution in an environment that focuses on content creation in various forms, breaking away from the more traditional commercial production company model.

Located in Brisbane and Melbourne, Australia, Head Pictures is a creative partnership between filmmakers Damon Escott, Stephen Lance and Steve Baker. Together they have a broad and complimentary understanding of film and television production and the industry.

Head Pictures began in 2003 when Damon and Stephen partnered with a view to producing music videos. Their ambition was quickly realised with highly acclaimed videos for some of Australia’s finest artists.
During their rise to success on the video scene, they also produced an internationally awarded short film. It was a natural next step for them to take on commercials. As a team they now direct national television campaigns for leading international brands. They currently have a client base that includes some of the major advertising agencies in Australia.

Early on, Head Pictures also developed its animation division with Steve Baker, one of Australia’s leading young animators. Presently, the team is in production with a short film funded by the Australian Film Commission, and an animation series for the ABC, Australia’s national broadcaster.

With an eye on unique and original storytelling that twists genre and form, Head Pictures is committed to the nurturing of stories and innovative voices.
