Leanne’s career began as a sound engineer at AAV Australia and Metropolis Audio working with artists such as “The Eurythmics”, “Hunters & Collectors”, “Vince Jones” and “John Farnham”.
In 1993 Leanne joined Great Southern Films as Senior Producer, producing many award-winning commercials (Cannes Young International Director of the Year, Clio, Mobius Best of Show, London International Advertising Award, New York Festivals, ATV and MADC Awards) and dealing with budgets up to $1.75m.
In 2003, Leanne produced “MITTENS”, a Fox Searchlight short film which made final pre-selection at the 2004 Academy Awards and screened at a number of prestigious film festivals worldwide.
In 2004, she established Mini Studios with writer/producer Steve Kearney. They began acquiring and developing feature film projects, receiving significant development funding and support from the Australian Film Commission and Film Victoria and are working with writers such as Stephen Sewell, Kris Mrksa and Jaime Browne. They recently co produced WHITE LINES, a 2008 Tropfest finalist.
Leanne is an independent producer with Screen Producers Association of Australia and has been a recent participant of SPARK, Enterprise Tasman and Inside Track at SPAAMART.
She became part of the Head Pictures team in 2007.
