Steve’s early criminal behaviour and his love of drawing inevitably led to animation as a creative outlet. He has had great success, winning awards all over the world for his short animations. His short film CONFESSIONS OF AN ANIMATION has screened at over 30 festivals and stations around the world and won him several awards including Best Comedy at Tropfest 2004.
He joined Head Pictures in 2005 to direct and animate the Australian Film Commission funded
short, DOG WITH ELECTRIC COLLAR, and has also begun directing DID YOU KNOW? an
animated television series for the ABC.
In 2007, Steve created history by becoming the first animator to win the Tropfest Short Film Festival with his short film “An Imaginary Life”. Written, directed and animated by Steve, this film follows the bittersweet tale of a forgotten imaginary friend
He is currently developing longer form drama projects that twist form and content by mixing live
action with animation.
